April is a great month for a festival, especially if the festival takes place on the beautiful island of Texel (NL). Get together with European decision makers, organised civil society, businesses, influencers and other interested people from 11 to 13 April 2019 for a large event where attendees will enjoy gigs, debates, song contests, discussions, book readings, ping pong tournaments, silent disco's - you name it. This festival is Democracy Alive!
European Movement International (EMI) organises the festival together with the Alliance for Democracy, with the aim to encourage civic engagement and increase overall democratic interest.
In order to bridge the gaps between citizens and those who represent us, and to bring trust and optimism back to the European project, EMI wants to create a space where citizens, organised civil society and elected representatives can come together and engage in real dialogue on the important issues that matter; be it on the environment, opportunities for the young, employment, human rights or the rule of law - just to name a few. We are essentially facilitating a space for thousands of people to participate and communicate their views on democracy and Europe.
An important part of Democracy Alive are the co-organisers. These are the organisations, movements and institutions that will ensure that all parts of the European conversation are represented. EMI is asking organisations to participate and host inspiring talks, events and debates about the issues that matter to them.
You can find more information on the festival here, also if you would like to become a sponsor or a co-organiser. This website will be updated regularly and more information on where to register, the programme, locations, etc. will follow soon.
